01/05/2005 - Happy New Year all.  A few updates.  We are bringing back the man with the rock 'n' roll plan, Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers (www.supersuckers.com,) to Herman's Hideaway on January 21st. If you remember last year's show with Eddie, then you know how fun this will be. Opening will be that kick-ass new band, Ten Cent Redemption. Get ready.  We have a whole slew of new shows on the Shows page. We're gearin' up our new songs, and we are playing a bunch of new venues so we're looking forward to the next couple of months and we hope to see you out there!

11/2/2004 - The Railbenders in-studio performance of "Whiskey Rain" on 99.5 the Mountain has been selected as 1 of 13 songs from local artists to be included in the soon-to-be released Mountain Homegrown Vol. 2.  We've also been asked to play at the CD release party on Thursday, November, 18th at Sing Sing.  There is no cover and the party starts at 6PM.

10/15/2004 - Catch the Railbenders live on 1510-AM, KCUV as part of their 1-year anniversary weekend celebration.

10/01/2004 - The Railbenders have been invited to play at Reno Divorce's European Tour kick-off party at Benders on Oct. 29.  We will be paying tribute to the Ramones that night, doing a short set of all Ramones songs.  Don't miss it.

08/24/2004 - "New Dale’s Pale Ale 12-Packs include CD of beer-blessed tunes from Denver’s Americana station (1510-AM)  Oskar Blues Brewery -- makers of hand-canned Dale’s Pale Ale and Old Chub -- is releasing the fourth installment in its acclaimed “Singing 12-Pack” series.  Specially marked Singing 12-packs of Dale's Pale Ale include a limited-release, six-song sampler of beer-minded songs from national and Colorado artists played on KCUV-AM 1510, Denver, Colorado's new Americana music station.  The disc opens with “Beer Run,” by renowned Texas singer/songwriter Todd Snyder, and the theme to KCUV’s Friday segment. The CD also includes “Bubblegum & Beer” by the Supersuckers, a legendary Seattle rock band that has also released a trio of vintage-minded country CDs. Texas honky tonk legend Dale Watson appears on the disc with a live cut of his “A Couple of Beers Ago”.   The CD’s world-class local tunes include “Someone Take This Bottle” (by the Railbenders), “New Town” ( Buckskin Stallion) and “Ranch Party” (Dalhart Imperials)."

7/21/2004 - The Railbenders made the Top Ten of the Denver Post's "fourth annual best underground bands."

7/15/2004 - The Railbenders were voted "Best Country/Bluegrass/Folk" band in the Westword Music Showcase 2004.  It was an honor to be included among several outstanding bands including the Honky Tonk Hangovers, Buckskin Stallion, The Reals, and Red Cloud.  Thanks to all who voted!

7/12/2004 - The Railbenders have been selected for a Coors Original sponsorship.

7/7/2004 - We were honored to be asked to play Coors Amphitheater for the 2004 John Elway Foundation Benefit this year.  We also performed at the event in 2003, opening for John Michael Montgomery.

06/27/2004 - We had the privilege of opening up for the Charlie Daniels Band this past Saturday and it was amazing.  The crowd was super cool to us and Charlie was nothing short of one of the nicest guys we've ever met.  We are one damn lucky band.

06/8/2004 - The band is Nashville-bound this week.  They'll be playing at legendary Robert's Western World, located in the city's honky tonk district on Broadway.  There is a lot going on in Nashville this week as it is the CMA Music Fest/ (formerly known as Fan Fair).   Click here to check out what's happening there this week.

06/7/2004 - Good news/bad news.  Bad news first: we had to cancel our slot at the Westword Music Showcase.  Good news:  The reason we had to cancel is because we landed a gig at the Budweiser Events Center opening for the Charlie Daniels Band.  Opening up for a country legend like Charlie Daniels is truly an honor and we are looking forward to the concert.  We'd really love to see you all there.  For more information and tickets, see Budweiser Events Center.

06/5/2004 - Big thanks to everyone who made it out to the Blue Mule last Thursday for the Coors sponsorship audition.  We didn't know it was going to happen, but they picked a "winner" for the night and we happened to be that lucky band.  There were a lot of great bands that night too!  We drew the last slot of the night (midnight!) and we still had an amazing turnout.  We can't thank you guys enough.

06/2/2004 - Click here for free tickets to the show, Thursday, June 3 at the Blue Mule (1642 Market, Denver)

05/11/2004 - We'll be on the radio Monday night, May 17th doing an interview with Jake Schroeder (host of the the Mountain Home Grown Hour), as well as playing some songs live in the studio. Tune into 99.5 FM at 11:00 pm.

05/03/2004 - We entered a song contest a few weeks ago put on by WSM Radio (Nashville) and Merle Haggard.   Well, we just found out we made the top 30, out of over 300 entries from around the world.  Next cut is down to 4 (where the winner will be decided by Merle Haggard).  If you are interested in helping decide the winning song, you can go to www.wsmonline.com and rank each song.  The winner gets flown to New Mexico to open the UFO Fest featuring Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson on July 3rd, 2004, plus receive a chance to record with Merle Haggard.

04/12/2004 -  We want to thank everyone for coming out to the shows the past few months.  We have played pretty much non-stop since "Segundo" came out in January and the support has way beyond our expectations.  This Friday's show at the Larimer Lounge will be our last show until May 21.  We're going to be working on many things during our break.  For one, we've been recruited to work on some commercial stuff  (TV and Radio) for Black Hawk Casinos.  Some of you may remember that we recorded music for a Colorado Lottery television commercial a couple of years ago.  Well, that same company has asked us back, and Jim has already been working with them on music for both radio and TV spots.  Speaking of TV, we're going to be involved in a local public access television production by none other than Maris the Great.  Also, Graham is doing his "homework" learning Supersuckers material because he has been recruited to play 2 dates on their tour.  He'll be filling in for Mike Murderburger in Park City, Utah and Colorado Springs, CO on April 28th, and 29th respectively.  Oh yeah, and between all this stuff, we're working on our new songs and planning a trip to Nashville.

03/15/2004 -  Big thanks to everyone who made it to the big Eddie Spaghetti/Railbenders/Dalhart Imperials at Herman's Hideaway Friday night.  What a hell of a great  time.  Thanks for being there.  I think we have a lot pictures of you all and we'll get those posted soon.  Next show is at Tavern 13 (Tyson's bar) this Wednesday 3/17 (St. Patty's Day!).  We'll be doing an acoustic set from 8-10, so come on down and don't forget to bring the, er, wear the green.

03/03/2004 -  I think we've outdone ourselves this time, friends. I've managed to con Eddie Spaghetti of the world famous Supersuckers to come play with us next Friday, March 12th at Herman's Hideaway.
Yep, that's right, us Railbender guys are using our own hard earned money to fly Eddie out from Seattle to play at Herman's with us.  For those who don't know, the Supersuckers have been rockin' this world the right way for many years.  But they also like to do the country thing, and they do it well. They've even appeared on Jay Leno as Willie Nelson's band.  And Willie is no flunkie when it comes to choosing a good band to back him up.

Eddie recently released his solo country record, "the Sauce", and will also be doing a live performance on KCUV radio (1510-AM) that Friday at 2:00 in the afternoon.  He'll also be at Twist & Shout doing an in-store performance at 4PM that same day.  Finally, later that night he'll join us, along with our good friends, the Dalhart Imperials for one big night of pure country musical delight at Herman's Hideaway. The Dalhart Imperials will take the stage first, then Eddie (and maybe some special guests), and then we'll close the night out.  Can I get a "hell yeah?" - Jim

We'd appreciate it if those of you who are planning on going would hit our website message board and let us know if you're thinking about coming to the show so we can get an idea of  how well this show will do.  Getting sleepy....

02/29/2004 - Big, big news...  Eddie Spaghetti, who sings and plays bass for the "Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band in the World", the Supersuckers, will be joining us on Friday, March 12th at Herman's Hideaway.  He's also the guy that we tied up and dragged into the studio and told him if he ever wanted to see his hometown of Seattle again, he'd better sing.  And sing he did.  As most of you know, he sings on "O.D.'d in Denver" and "Sweet Caroline".  Don't miss this rare chance to see him perform at Herman's (first ever appearance) in support of his recently released, "the Sauce", which features very cool renditions of songs by some of  the greatest country artists ever including the likes of Haggard, Cash, Kristofferson, and more.  Oh yeah, and we're playing that night too..

02/25/2004 - The band will have a small write-up in this Friday's Denver Post - see Kat Valentine's column in the Arts & Entertainment section.  She'll be promoting Friday's show at the Climax with Halden Wofford & the Hi-Beams.

02/22/2004 - Big thanks to those who drove 45 minutes to Loveland to see the band at the White Buffalo last weekend.  You guys kick ass.  Jim even pulled out his Black Falcon for the freaky fan on the message board.

02/16/2004 - John Moore/Denver Post reviewed "Segundo" in yesterday's Sunday Post.  Check it out at: http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~78~1953173,00.html

01/23/2004 - We want to extend a very big thank you to everyone who made it to our CD release party at Herman's Hideaway.  According to Herman's, there were over 700 people counted at the door that night.  We sold out of CD's, and we had a hell of good time.  Thanks for the whiskey too.

12/31/2003 - Happy New Year!  The new message board is up and running.  Click on "MESSAGES" for news, updates, discussions, etc.   By the way, Slim Cessna rocked at the Bluebird.  And they let us drink their Glenlivet backstage.    Nice guys.

12/18/2003 - This coming Saturday, December 20th, we are having our annual Christmas bash at our old stomping grounds, Lincoln's Roadhouse.  Come be a part of this free show and join us for some Christmas cheer.  Bring presents too (just kidding, well not really).  Lincoln's is located at 1201 S. Pearl and Buchtel in the DU area.  We also want to thank 100.3-FM (Mix100) for having us play live this morning as part of the Dom and Jane Annual Christmas show.   Nice folks.   Merry Christmas.

12/01/2003 - This coming Saturday, December 6th, we are glad to be part of an outstanding night of music at the Soiled Dove in Lower Downtown Denver.   We'll be playing with the Drag the River and the Honky Tonk Hangovers.  If you saw Drag the River's acoustic set at Herman's last month, wait until you see them with the full band.  They are one of the best bands around.  Starting off the night will be the outstanding Honky Tonk Hangovers, who have the privilege of opening up for the Brian Setzer Orchestra the the Fillmore next Wednesday night.

11/28/2003 - Thanks for all who attended the our acoustic pre-Thanksgiving party at Tavern 13.  That place was packed!  Unfortunately, it was one of those gigs where everything that could go wrong did (technically speaking).  Our gear kept failing us but we appreciate our good friends coming to our rescue and bringing their guitars.  All in all a good time was had, so thanks to you guys for hanging in there and hanging late with us too.  Also, we hear that KCUV will be giving away tickets to callers for our next show on 12/6 with Drag the River and the Honky Tonk Hangovers at the Soiled Dove.  So be sure to stream it or tune it in to 1510-AM for free tix and great music.

11/26/2003 - Arizona was a kick in the pants.  A big shout out to all the super nice folks we met out there.  Thanks for the hospitality and we'll be back soon!  Also, a big thanks to WB2 News for the story last Friday night.  And another huge thanks to KCUV for the regular airplay.  Listen to them now!

11/18/2003 - We are in Arizona this weekend.  Friday night we are playing at the Rogue with Grave Danger.  Saturday night we play first at a benefit for Alejandro Escovedo.  It is an outstanding line-up of Arizona's finest including Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.  We're damn glad to be included.

11/05/2003 - Be sure to tune into Denver's best new radio station, 1510-AM (KCUV).   They are giving away free tickets to the show this Saturday at Herman's Hideaway.

10/30/2003 - Thanks for the e-mails and calls letting us know we have been on the radio this week.  For those who don't know by know, there is an excellent new Americana/Country radio station on the Denver airwaves and they play outstanding music.  The station is KCUV located at 1510-AM on the dial.  They are also the first radio station to play the Railbenders, Dalhart Imperials, Halden Wofford, and other local country bands on a regular basis.  Please give them a listen and tell all your friends about it.  This is the kind of station we need, and we need to support them if we want to keep good music on our radio!

10/26/2003 -Damn we had a good time at the Supersuckers show Friday night in Ft. Collins.  We would like to thank the Supersuckers and Supagroup for not kicking our assess for drinking more than our share of THEIR alcoholic beverages.  We did try to warn them about Graham, but that's not something people can believe until they actually see.  Next victim - Junior Brown.

10/23/2003 -You really do not want to miss tomorrow nights show at the Aggie Theatre in Ft. Collins with the Supersuckers, Supagroup, and the Railbenders.  You really don't.  The 'suckers do not have a Denver show this time around.  So, make the trip to Ft. Collins!

10/13/2003 -You don't want to miss the SECOND ANNUAL Urban Cowboy benefit event hosted by the ASCENT Foundation, an evening that includes an open bar, free food, live entertainment, mechanical bull rides, cow milking and lasso tossing.  The ambiance of the National Western Stock Show Complex is the perfect setting for an event like Urban Cowboy!

9/12/2003 - We are very sad to hear of the passing of  Johnny Cash today.  In our lifetime, we will never see another like Johnny Cash.  At least there's some comfort in knowing he's back with June, and they're probably up there singing "Ring of Fire" for the Big Man.  We'll be paying tribute to Johnny Cash at several of our upcoming shows, starting with the Streets of London.  Let the train blow the whistle...

8/20/2003 - Cross Canadian Ragweed has cancelled tonight's show, but the Railbenders are still playing all night and it will be a free show.  Post-show party at Tavern 13.

7/10/2003 - Thanks to everyone who voted for us in this year's Westword Music Showcase.  We are truly  honored and humbled to have won the "Best Country" category two years in a row, especially considering the outstanding bands in our category (Honky Tonk Hangovers, Halden Wofford, Marty Jones, Open Road, All Night Honky Tonk All-Stars).

6/26/2003 - Last Friday, the Supersuckers were in town and we had the privilege of having Eddie Spaghetti in the studio with us.  He sang on a few tracks for our upcoming release and we can't wait for you to hear it.  We're not going to spoil the surprise as to what he sang, but let's just say you don't want to miss it.  The CD will also feature Glenn Taylor (Slim Cessna's Auto Club), Chuck Hughes (Hillbilly Hellcats), and more.  Stay tuned for upcoming release info.

5/18/2003 - Well this is cool news.  We recently found out we were nominated for the Westword Music Showcase 2003 in the "Country/Bluegrass/Roots" category.  We're in some outstanding company so this is a very nice compliment.  We would appreciate your vote.   Winning this thing two years in a row would be a truly huge honor!  Vote  your favorite bands at www.westword.com.  We'll also be performing at the showcase at 7:00 PM on June 21st at Serengeti in the Golden Triangle area downtown.

5/15/2003 - We are very saddened to hear of the passing of June Carter Cash today.  Her influence on country music has always been under appreciated.  She was co-writer of "Ring of Fire," which was about falling in love with husband, Johnny Cash.  There will never be another woman like June Carter Cash in the world of country music.

5/5/2003 - Rare last-minute unplugged performance this Thursday.  See "Shows" link.

4/21/2003 - Don't miss the chance to see us with Pat Green (Austin, TX), this Friday night at the Gothic Theatre.  We had the pleasure of opening for Pat last September, and it was a kick in the pants.  Pat Green fans are some of the loudest anywhere!

11/5/2002 -  Hey y'all.  We are busy in the studio working on our second CD (yet to be titled).  We are a little behind schedule right now, but it won't be too much longer.  We're looking forward to its release.  In the meantime, we have some great gigs coming up.  Check out www.ascentfoundation.com for this weekends charity event that we will be playing along with Marty Jones and the Pork Boilin' Poor Boys.  Then on 12/15, we are opening up for our friends the Honky Tonk Hangovers as they release their debut CD, "Every Little Honky Tonk."  We have been privy to some of the cuts from the CD and it is traditional country at its finest!  We are going to be posting tickets here on-line for you to print out for free so keep checking back.

Last Friday was our last show with Gordon Beesley manning the drums.  Gordon is currently attending the Arvada Police Academy and will soon be patrolling the streets, keeping us all a little safer.  We wish Gordon the best in his new career.  He will be greatly missed!

9/04/2002
A huge heartfelt thanks to all of you who made the journey to Aspen this past weekend.  We are forever grateful!  We were told by the event staffers that we had the biggest noon crowd of the weekend.  Not bad for the only local boys on the bill, eh?  Thank you all for braving the sun, dirt, and wind!

12/29/2001
New Year's Eve at Lincoln's Roadhouse!  Be there! (Click "Shows" for details)  This will be out last public show for awhile as we'll be doing some private events for the National Western Stock show in January.

12/5/2001
Can you believe 2001 is almost over?  One thing for sure.  It will be a year we will never forget.  We are living in some extraordinary times my friends.  From a band perspective, we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your amazing support during this past year.  We had some great times together.  Especially, the Lincoln's shows!  You all help make those special.  Thanks again to all who forked over their hard earned cash at our benefit in September for the Red Cross Relief Fund.  We raised over $1,200 for the cause.  We wish you and yours a happy and safe Christmas season.

11/20/2001
Last Friday night at Lincoln's was quite the party.  Thanks to everyone who showed up.  We even had a celebrity in the crowd.  John Corbett, better known as "Aiden" from "Sex and the City" was dancing amongst the crowd.  He's the guy that gets in the sack on a regular basis with Sarah Jessica Parker (on the show that is).  No idea why he was there.  When asked, he just said, "Same reason you are", and held up his cold brew, and told Tyson that he dug the Railbenders.  How cool is that.

11/13/2001
Last night we were lucky enough to open for the Supersuckers at Tulagi's on the Hill in Boulder. The Supersuckers fans are some of the coolest people we have ever played for. They showed us major support by buying plenty of CD's and T-Shirts. Then, the Supersuckers came out and rocked a packed house from the opening guitar riff until they walked off stage. This is one of the best live bands on the planet. And I don't mean that in an Eddie Haskell kind of way. This is in-your-face, loud-ass rock 'n' roll, the only way it should be played. They're at the Bluebird tonight. We'll be there!

10/11/2001
From the President of Pabst Blue Ribbon Co:

"I am proud to report that Pabst Brewing Company products won a total of 10 medals at the recent Great American Beer Festival, including two Gold Medals. These 10 awards, including a "sweep" of the American-Style Light Lager category, were by far the most won by any major brewer.

This event, held the last week of September in Denver, Colorado, attracted over 1800 product entries from more than 400 breweries. With that kind of competition, capturing 10 medals is an outstanding feat. On behalf of us all, I offer congratulations to our Brewing and Quality Assurance staff."

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to Lincoln's last Friday.  Together we raised $1,234.00 for the American Red Cross.  The truly amazing part of this is that we did this without a cover charge!  You all willingly donated your hard earned cash!  Be proud!

This Friday, we play at Lincoln's Roadhouse - 1201 S. Pearl St. 303 777-3700.
We are donating our pay from this show to the American Red Cross (www.denver-redcross.org). We hope that you will join us by coming by and donating a few bucks. Lincoln's will not permit us to collect a cover charge or donation at the door so we are relying strictly on donations in a hat that we will have on stage. Our goal is to raise at least $1,000 to donate on behalf of the Railbenders and you! We hope you can make it and help the cause.
Also, this is Chris Flynn's last show with us. We're sad to see him go. It has been a great year and 1/2 with Chris. We wish him the best.

On Saturday, September 8th, we will be playing at Herman's Hideaway. Herman's was one of the clubs recently featured on VH1-Rock Across America. This is our first ever weekend headliner at Herman's.  We have two very hard acts to follow that night: One of Denver's hottest new bands, the Honky Tonk Hangovers, will kick off the twang at around 8:00 p.m.  Then, the world famous Marty Jones & the Pork Boilin' Poor Boys will serve up a plate of backwoods, hillbilly, knee slappin', bash-grass. We will close the night.  We would really appreciate your support at this show.  Tickets are $6.00 but we are mailing free tickets to anyone who asks for them. Just send us an e-mail with your address and the number of tickets you need and we'll get them in the mail to you.

Thanks for the continued support!

8/1/2001 - Join us at Thia's this Friday night.  We'll be playing from 9:30 until the cows come home.

7/23/2001 - If you want to see something really cool, go check out our friends, Marty Jones & the Pork Boilin' Poor Boys (the best bashgrass/drunky-tonk band ever) along with Split Lip Rayfield (Bloodshot Records) at the Gothic Theatre on Thursday August 9th.  The show is only $5.00!  We will be there!  Hope to see you there!

6/26/2001 - Our next show is a new place for us.  It's a little Irish Pub known as McDonough's at 10395 E. Iliff Ave near Havana.  It's right around the corner from the Piper Inn.  Please help make a good showing to these nice folks by coming down and joining the party!

6/25/2001 - Thanks to everyone for coming to Lincoln's tribute/benefit for Terry Dalton on Sunday.  The turnout was spectacular.  Over $3,000 was raised through raffles, auctions, and cover.  This will help Terry buy a very good wheel chair. To everyone who contributed, we give many, many thanks!  It was a hell of a party!
